Preserving stories and legends through art

Galicia, an ancient and mysterious land, is steeped in legends and magic. “Illustrated Galicia” aims to tell some of those stories through paintings and audio recordings. This project was initiated by the belgian painter Cam Stass during a residency with Rural Hackers. The result is a series of paintings, now displayed along a forest trail in Anceu (42°21’10.8”N, 8°27’37.4”W). Surrounded by the melodies of birds and old, majestic oak trees, come listen to the legends of Galicia and experience them in a whole new way.

This project was launched in 2024 during a residency funded by Culture Moves Europe.
